“I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  - John 10:10
Sharing Christ’s Abundant Life

At the Church of the Magdalen, we seek to live and share the abundant life of Jesus Christ, now and forever. One of the best ways to experience Christ’s abundant life here and now is to accompany others in following the Lord within a small group of other disciples. Joining a small group is a great opportunity to gather in a smaller setting outside of Mass in order to get to know others better and grow deeper in your faith together.  We call living and sharing the abundant life of Jesus, Spiritual Friendship.

What is a Small Group?

Magdalen offers many opportunities for growing in relationship with other parishioners. We offer men’s and women’s groups, couple’s groups, teen small groups, and more. A small group is typically a gathering of 6-12 people who have committed to growing in Christ together by meeting regularly in each other’s homes, a local restaurant, or at the church.

Small Groups are Fun–and Biblical!

Small group life isn’t just for fun–although they are fun! We believe that God does not desire us to be alone. He made us for community to be His Church: “so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another” (Romans 5:12). Small group prayer and learning is also Biblical. New converts in the early Church made fellowship with one another in their homes a central part of their life of faith: “They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers” (Acts 2:42).
