NOTES:
1. Anyone participating in cross country MUST have a physical and all related sports paperwork turned into their respective school. You will not be allowed to practice or compete if these items are not on record at your school.
2. The XC coaches require only 2 items for you to participate. The first is a Cross Country Registration form. These forms are now available, please pick one up from one of the coaches. A registration form is required for each individual runner. The second item is the Cross Country fee itself. For new runners, this would be $60 (the XC fee of $35 + $25 for a jersey), and for all other returning runners the fee is $35. With the exception of Magdalen School athletes, who can pay their cross country fee at registration, please bring ALL fees to the XC coaches. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CROSS COUNTRY MONEY TO YOUR SCHOOL OFFICE. For those families with siblings that are running, a single check for the entire XC fee can be submitted. Please make all checks out to MAGDALEN ATHLETICS. Cash is also accepted. We would like to have all fees collected by the end of the month.
3. All other sports related paperwork (Physicals, Concussion Protocols, Sportsmanship forms, etc.) need to be turned in to your respective school Athletic Departments.
4. Beginning Tuesday, Sept 8, practices will be Mon-Thu until the end of the season.
5. At each meet we will need a volunteer to bring snacks for post-race runners. This typically consists of bananas, muffins, grapes, etc. Everyone should be bringing their own water, so drinks are not necessary. Anyone who purchases snacks will be reimbursed by the team so keep a receipt of all items. We will be asking for volunteers before each meet.
6. The only thing that will keep us from running in a meet is lightning. Please plan on running regardless of rain, snow, cold, wind, etc. We will be briefing the athletes on running in less that optimal weather conditions. With the high temps, monitor the Group Me app. We will generally have practice unless the KSHAA heat restrictions prohibit it. Since most of the meets are earlier in the morning, we don't usually have to fight high temps.
