5th Grade
Religion: We will be starting to learn about the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation). We are also hard at work on our Saint projects. Looking forward to our Saint Museum on November 4th!
Math: We are finishing up our chapter on decimal multiplication and starting our chapter over division.
Science: We just started our chapter over Growth and Survival. We will learn about physical structures of living things, life cycles, and how adaptations help organisms survive.

October 20: Parenting Editing of Saint Rough Draft Due
October 21: Final Draft of Saint Paper Due
October 23: Saint Final Paper Due
November 4th: Saint Museum
October 30th: Chapter 5 Religion Test
Religion: We will be learning about the Beatitudes and the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist). We will continue to have a weekly test over each lesson.
Math: We just finished up our chapter over Place Value and will be moving into our chapter over Adding and Subtracting Decimals.
Science: We are working on our chapter over Matter. We will be learning about what makes up matter, how matter can be described, and what chemical and physical changes are.

Welcome back! I hope everyone had an awesome summer. My name is Ashley Doty and this is my 11th year teaching 5th grade at Magdalen. I am delighted to have your child in my class this year, and am looking forward to having a very successful school year.
