Beginning this Sunday, Catholic schools around the nation are celebrating the annual "Catholic Schools Week!" There will be lots of fun throughout the week to honor and celebrate being in a Catholic school and chances to raise money for the St. Katherine Drexel Fund within our diocese. 

What We Are Learning: 

• Math: Students will continue learning about finding equivalent fractions this week. Last week, they learned how they can use models/pictures to find equivalent fractions. This week they will learn how to use a number line, multiplication, and division to find equivalent fractions. 

• Religion: HAPPY CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK! 
• Students will begin Chapter 11 in their Religion textbook this week. Students will be learning about the New Commandment that Jesus gave us. “Love one another, as I have loved you.” This is also called the “Law of Love.”  

• Social Studies: Due to the many activities of Catholic Schools Week, we will be taking a break from our MW magazine this week. Instead, we will be getting ready to celebrate the birthday of our state! Happy birthday to Kansas on Thurs. Jan. 29th! Students will have the opportunity to earn some extra credit through designing their own Kansas license plate! All of these plates will have the letters HBD2KS or HBD 2 KS or HBD KS as their plate letters. These license plates from the students always turn out so good!

• Students are now allowed to bring water bottles that are stainless steel and they don't have to be necessarily clear. They are expected to ONLY have WATER inside of their bottle. Failure to abide by this rule will result in your child using only clear bottles for the remainder of the school year.  
• Every day your child should bring back to school their agenda and their school computer fully charged.
